Legislators, County Clerk volunteer at Autism Services wrapping table

LHSErie County Legislators Lynne Dixon and Joseph Lorigo, along with County Clerk Chris Jacobs, will volunteer at the Autism Services Inc.’s (ASI) gift wrap table at the Galleria Mall at 10 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 17 to help raise funds to help the organization continue to provide much needed services for local residents on the Autism Spectrum.

The table is located near the Apple Store and provides gift wrapping services daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. For a small donation, shoppers can get their gifts beautifully wrapped and support Autism Services.

Price List:

Jewelry Box/CD - $1.75

Small (for: Scarves, Gloves, etc - $2.25

Medium A (for: Shirts, Blouses, etc.) - $3.25

Medium B (for: Larger Shirts, Sweaters, etc.) - $4.00

Large (for: Robes, Multiple Shirts, etc.) - $4.50

Extra Large (for Coats, Jackets, etc.) - $5.50

ASI uses all of the proceeds and gives it right back to their students and adult participants. Donations helps ASI give children and adults with autism the opportunity to participate in the visual and performing arts, engage in self-expression, and celebrate who they are with their families and community. From arts supplies to field trips, every cent helps improve the quality of life for someone on the Autism Spectrum.

“I first learned about the need for volunteers on Facebook and wanted to help Autism Services which provides excellent programming. This time of year reminds us of everything we have to be grateful for and I know so many families are grateful for Autism Services and the support they provide. Please stop by and donate to Autism Services and provide them with the means to continue to provide activities as the need grows,” said Legislator Dixon.

“We are all busy this time of year and spend a great deal of time finding the perfect gift. After shopping, many dread the task of wrapping the gifts. By stopping by the Autism Services table you can get all your wrapping done and support an organization that does great work in our community. Volunteers are also needed for several shifts through Christmas Eve. Consider signing up and helping during this holiday season,” said Legislator Lorigo.

“Everyone loves to give that perfect gift for the holidays and there is no better way to make that present extra special than donating to a worthy cause in the process. It is a win-win, you make a contribution to Autism Services and the task of gift wrapping is done for you,” said County Clerk Jacobs.  “Autism Services is not only requesting monetary donations, a gift of time to help wrap presents this holiday season can be just as valuable.”

If you want to help and volunteer as a gift wrapper, please contact Shaun Doyle with Autism Services at 631-5777 ext. 363 or email SDoyle@autism-services-inc.org to sign up for a 4-hour shift.
