Lorigo Announces Community Block Grant Awards for West Seneca, Elma and Marilla


Erie County government cannot shirk its responsibility to its employees or to taxpayers
These claims must be investigated immediately and it must be done by someone outside county government to ensure transparency
Law will be one of the strongest county ethics laws in the state
One of my biggest priorities right now is passing significant ethics reform at the county level. If passed, this would be the most comprehensive ethics reform the county has seen in decades.
Each year, legislators collect thousands of valentines and distribute them to the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station and other veterans’ posts throughout Erie County.

County Legislator Joe Lorigo (C-West Seneca), announced that over $253,000 has been granted to communities in his district to help with local community initiatives and infrastructure upgrades.


• Town of Elma, Senior Center Roof and Building Rehabilitation- $62,670

• Town of West Seneca, Road Milling and Resurfacing project (Benson Avenue, Dirkson Avenue and Wichita Road)- $100,000

• Town of Marilla- Town Hall Handicap Accessible Elevator Installation- $91,080


“I’m happy that the selection committee realized the importance of these projects and chose to help provide funding for them. This money will go a long way to help the municipalities and once completed, these projects will be great investments that benefit all residents,” said Legislator Lorigo.


The selection committee is made up of a 14-members that includes11 Supervisors and Mayors from the community and three representatives from the Erie County Department of Environment and Planning.
