Erie County Legislature Majority Leader Joseph Lorigo announces that funding has been approved to repair East & West Road in West Seneca. At the Sept. 7 session, the Legislature approved a resolution allocating funding to complete design work, a necessary step before construction can begin.

“After years of fixing East and West Road with Band-Aids, we are finally investing the appropriate funds to correctly address the issues. This is a main thoroughfare in West Seneca and reconstruction of the roadway is long overdue. I am hopeful that with design work underway that construction will begin next spring. I have heard numerous complaints about the condition of the road and share those concerns as I drive along East and West daily. I am glad this project is moving forward and look forward to the safety of the roadway being improved,” said Majority Leader Lorigo.

Design work will include improving the aging drainage system and reconstruction of the entire length of the roadway, from Orchard Park Road to Leydecker Road.
