Majority Leader Lorigo announces work on Maple Road to start June 19

Erie County Legislature Majority Leader Joseph Lorigo announces that work will begin on Maple Road the week of Monday, June 19. The roadway will be repaired from Jamison Road to North Street following a call for repairs from Legislator Lorigo, Aurora and Elma Town Supervisors, residents and business owners.

“I want to thank the County’s Interim Commissioner of Public Works and the Deputy Commissioner for their attention to this issue. After I hosted a public meeting in January, DPW moved forward with prioritizing the repair of Maple Road. In early spring the Legislature approved the funding
for Maple Road, and now work is nearly ready to begin.  For several years residents living along Maple grew increasingly concerned about accidents, potholes, road shoulders and the general condition of the road.  Residents were told for over a decade that the road would be redone.  Finally, we have made progress, and I am pleased to work with them on bringing attention to Maple’s need for repair. The
roadway will be much safer when this work is finished, and I look forward to a smoother, better thoroughfare” said Majority Leader Lorigo.

Crews will start at Jamison Road in Elma, making their way south to North Street in the Village of East Aurora. The entire length will be milled and repaved. The project is expected to take five weeks to complete.
