Erie County Legislature Majority Leader Joseph Lorigo has released the following statement in response to the NFTA’s plan to charge a fee to ridesharing users:

“In one week, Western New York is finally getting ridesharing after years of delay, and today we learn that the NFTA has already moved forward with plans to implement a $3.50 fee on each and every ride to and from the airport. This is nothing more than a money grab by the out of touch NFTA.  I pushed hard for ridesharing as a safe, reliable, and affordable public transportation option.  This fee does nothing but increase the cost for passengers.  Enough is enough.  Instead of further standing in the way of progress, the NFTA should abandon this ridiculous fee and refocus on meeting the demands of public transportation for all of Western New York.”
