Majority Leader Lorigo's statement on ridesharing starting June 29

On June 6, 2017, the Governor signed legislation officially setting the start for ridesharing in Upstate New York for June 29.

“Western New York can officially get ready for June 29 when ridesharing becomes available to all New Yorkers. With the Governor’s signature today, Uber and Lyft have the go ahead to start offering their services in just a few weeks.  This change in the timeline is great news as we tend to see a spike in DWIs during the Fourth of July holiday.  When ridesharing was originally passed in April,  I noted that it wouldn’t start until a few days  after July 4th , which wasn’t the most practical time. I immediately called on our state leaders to amend the timeline, and want to thank to Senator Ranzenhofer for leading the effort.” – Majority Leader Joseph Lorigo
