As kids and parents begin preparing for the school year, Erie County Legislator Joe Lorigo is teaming up with the Rural Outreach Center to collect new or gently used backpacks for those in need.

From now through August 29th, backpacks can be dropped off at the following locations:

    • Aurora Town Library
    • Elma Library
    • Marilla Free Library
    • West Seneca Library
    • Erie County Legislature
    • Law Office of Ralph C. Lorigo
    • West Falls-Colden Library

Legislator Lorigo said, “The cost of school supplies continues to grow and our goal is to help ease the burden on parents who may not be able to afford a backpack for their children. Frank Cerny and his team at the Rural Outreach Center do outstanding work to address poverty in our community and I am proud to help them ensure every child is prepared for this upcoming school year. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated!”
