Recently, Erie County Legislator Joe Lorigo sponsored a resolution to celebrate National Police Week in Erie County.

National Police Week is celebrated annually to recognize the brave men and women who put the safety of others above their own to serve and protect their communities. Policemen are the first line of defense when there is an emergency. In addition to recognizing their hard work and bravery, National Police Week also raises awareness of the problems, duties and responsibilities of local police departments.

Legislator Lorigo said, “I am proud to say I support law enforcement officers and all of the hard work they put in for their communities. Thank you for your great public service. Let’s all remember to celebrate and thank police officers each and every day and not just one week out of the year.”
