Following recent approval of the Erie County Legislature, Legislator Joe Lorigo has secured Summer Primetime Funding in support of summer youth programs throughout the 10th Legislative District.

The following organizations received funds:

    • The Boys and Girls Club of East Aurora - $9,000
    • The Boys and Girls Club of Elma, Marilla, and Wales - $9,000
    • Cornell Cooperative Extension - $9,000

Legislator Lorigo said, “I am excited to announce this year’s round of funding and I am confident it will be of great benefit to children throughout our community.  Through a number of recreational and educational programs, these organizations provide vital resources to kids and families throughout the summer months. I appreciate all they have done and will continue to do, especially during these challenging times.”

Gary Schutrum, CEO of the Boys and Girls Club of East Aurora said, "Legislator Joe Lorigo's support of the Boys and Girls Club of East Aurora has truly been amazing over the years but his most recent support comes at a time that is most critical for our youth, campers and our community.  With the Prime Time funding received the Boys and Girls Club of EA will be able to provide summer programming that will greatly enhance and provide much needed mental, social, emotional and physical support to all of our youth campers during the pandemic, and will provide us with critical funding to support our Clubs/Camps during these most challenging of financial times. Legislator Lorigo is a true difference maker and all of us are so fortunate to have someone who truly is a champion for our youth."

Determination of Summer Primetime funding is coordinated through the Department of Social Services and the final proposal is requested by the County Executive’s office. For a full list of organizations receiving funding, click here.
