Last week, Erie County Legislator Joe Lorigo joined Town Supervisor Earl Gingerich Jr. and Highway Superintendent Ron Unverdorben to examine dangerous roads throughout the Town of Marilla.

Legislator Lorigo, Supervisor Gingerich, and Highway Superintendent Unverdorben visited Three Rod Road, Four Rod Road, Liberia Road, and East Blood Road.  On Four Rod Road, a lack of shoulder and ditch maintenance has begun to erode the asphalt and deteriorating bridge barriers replaced with concrete barriers has narrowed the roadway.

Legislator Lorigo said, “This overall lack of maintenance is unfair to the people who live on these roads and travel them regularly. Flooding due to a plugged culvert pipe, a pothole covered by a traffic cone, and shoddy repairs to bridge barriers are just a few of the public safety hazards we encountered. Our county roads need to be addressed before someone is seriously injured. Many of the county roads I’ve visited have been completely ignored by the administration and I will continue to advocate for improvements.”
