The Erie County Legislature unanimously approved a contract that will allow the Holland Central School District to continue employing a school resource officer (SRO) to help promote a safe environment within the school.

Since 2014, the Holland Central School District has had one full time school resource officer. This agreement will extend the position through 2021.

Legislator Lorigo said, “School resource officers have a positive impact on our local school districts in many ways. Having an officer present promotes safety and it has helped build positive relationships between students and law enforcement. I look forward to extending this agreement and thank the Erie County Sherriff’s Office for their commitment to protecting our schools.”
