Legislator Thomas A. Loughran (D-Amherst) has voted to assure the WNY Congressional delegation that Meals on Wheels, funded through the Community Block Grant Program, and the Home Energy Assistance Program, commonly known as HEAP, are crucial to the health and safety of Amherst Seniors.

 "This vote asks the delegation to reject any cuts to these important quality of life programs that many Amherst Seniors and other WNYers count on to remain safely and comfortably, in the community, with family, friends and neighbors" stated Minority Leader Loughran.

Legislator Loughran and his fellow legislators unanimously passed resolutions at the regular session of the legislature on Thursday, March 23, Standing in Unity with the WNY Congressional Delegation to Ensure the Viability of the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program and the Meals on Wheels Program.
