County Legislator Lynn Marinelli (D-Buffalo, Tonawanda) honored David and Ruth Lampe as her Citizens of the Month because of their contributions to the 3rd District at the last session of the Erie County Legislature.
Residents of Legislator Marinelli’s district in North Buffalo, the Lampes have played an active role in the community. The Lampes just celebrated their 50th anniversary and have two sons and seven grandchildren.
Ruth Lampe is a former English teacher for the Buffalo Board of Education. She is the Director and past President of the Parkside Community Association, a member of both the Design Review and Long Range Planning Committees for the Olmsted Parks Conservancy, and also served as President of the PTA’s of School 54 and City Honors. She is currently the co-chair of the North Buffalo Neighbors Aging in Place Transportation Committee.
David Lampe is a former professor at Buffalo State College and is currently a member of the Delaware Park Steering Committee and North Buffalo Library Committee. David also shares his time and talent as Chair of the Burchfield-Penney Poetry Series and the Campus House Board of Directors
