Legislator Mazur, Chairperson Grant Recognize Veterans Games Organizers

            Erie County Legislature Chairperson Betty Jean Grant (D-Buffalo), left, and County Legislature Majority Leader Thomas J. Mazur (D-Buffalo, Cheektowaga), center, a U.S. Army Vietnam War veteran, honored organizers of the National Veterans Golden Age Games at the May 23 session for their hard work in arranging the games in Erie County. The games will be held in Buffalo through June 4.

Majority Leader Mazur, Legislature Honor Buffalo Gateway Show Chorus

            Members of the award-winning Buffalo Gateway Show Chorus, rated one of the top 10 female barbershop choruses in the world, were honored at the May 9 Erie County Legislature session for their winning the blue ribbon at the Lake Ontario Sweet Adelines Region 16 competition in Syracuse; the chorus, led by Director Diane Porsch, performed to an appreciative audience before the session. Among those honoring the Buffalo Gateway Show Chorus were Erie County Legislature Chairperson Betty Jean Grant (D-Buffalo), County Legislature Majority Leader Thomas J. Mazur (D-Buffalo, Cheektowaga), and Legislators Terrence D. McCracken (D-Buffalo) and Timothy R. Hogues (D-Buffalo).
