Erie County Legislator Terrence D. McCracken (D-Lancaster, Depew, South Cheektowaga, Alden) and Assemblyman Dennis H. Gabryszak (D-Cheektowaga, Depew) will host a free electronics recycling event from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, August 11, in the Depew High School parking lot, 5201 South Transit Road, Depew.
Among the electronics that will be accepted are: desktop and laptop computers, computer accessories (keyboards, mouse), servers, IT equipment, scanners, printers, circuit boards, ink and toner cartridges, copiers, televisions, monitors, audio/visual equipment, cell phones and PDAs, mp3 players, communications equipment (telephones), fax machines, cables and wires, video games and systems, medical and lab equipment and “anything else with a circuit board or cord.”
Sunnking Electronics will be present to responsibly recycle these items and make sure that people’s personal information is properly destroyed. Items containing Freon, including air conditioners, dehumidifiers and refrigerators, gas-powered equipment and household hazardous waste should not be brought to this electronics recycling event.
“I urge my constituents to take advantage of this free recycling event to properly dispose of any electronic devices you no longer use,” Legislator McCracken said. “This is a way to get rid of unwanted electronics you don’t use without having to pay for this service, and I am proud to sponsor this.”
