Erie County Legislator Barbara Miller-Williams Honors Sandra Williams Bush for her 30 Years of Dedicated Service with the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library


Buffalo, NY- First district Erie County Legislator Barbara Miller-Williams (D-Buffalo) and the Erie County Legislature honored Sandra Williams Bush, for her thirty years of dedicated service with the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library, and wished her all the best in her future endeavors in her well-earned retirement, at the Legislature’s regular session held in “Old County Hall,” in the City of Buffalo on Thursday, September 17, 2015.

Legislator Miller-Williams stated, "We were joined today by the Buffalo and Erie County Public Library Deputy Director-Chief Financial Officer, Kenneth Stone, Assistant Deputy Director-Public Services, Dawn Peters, and Legislator Betty Jean Grant for the presentation of the proclamation to Sandra Williams Bush. On behalf of Erie County and my colleagues, as well as the residents of the first legislative district, I would like to offer my congratulations and best wishes to Sandra in all of her future endeavors." 

Sandra Williams Bush started her career at the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library as a library clerk in 1985; she then became a manager of the North Jefferson Library, and in 2006 was appointed as the first branch manager of the new Frank E. Merriweather Jr. Library.

The Frank E. Merriweather, Jr. Library, the crown jewel of African-American architecture in the Buffalo-Niagara region, houses the largest resource center of African and African-American history in Central and Western New York.
