Legislator Barbara Miller-Williams recognizes “Miss Barbara” for 50 years of service

Buffalo, NY-Erie County Legislator Barbara Miller-Williams presented a proclamation to Ms. Barbara D. Glover, the Founder and Artistic Director for Miss Barbara’s School of Dance at the regular session of the Legislature on Thursday, June 23, 2016.  The proclamation recognized Miss Barbara for operating her famous school of dance for fifty years in the City of Buffalo.


“It is with great honor that I present this proclamation to Miss Barbara in recognition of her fifty years of owning and operating her school of dance. Miss Barbara has been committed to developing the minds and bodies of young people through various genres of dance, talent competitions and pageants and her record of success is unmatched”, stated Legislator Barbara Miller-Williams.


Miss Barbara’s School of Dance has been in operation since 1966 and has been the recipient of numerous awards and accolades including being selected in 2002 to perform for Magic Music Days at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. In addition, Miss Barbara has taught, staged, choreographed, directed and produced shows for countless civic, church and community organizations.  On Sunday, June 26, 2016 Miss Barbara’s School of Dance will introduce “My Story, Our Dance” in the theatre of the Buffalo Academy of Visual and Performing Arts to honor Ms. Glover for her outstanding service to our community.
