Legislator Miller-Williams To Host Erie County Funding Workshop For Non Profit Organizations

Legislator Miller-Williams will host a workshop titled ‘Accessing Erie County Funding Workshop’ for Non Profit groups and interested community members to learn the process of applying for Erie County funding. The informational workshop will be held Saturday February 25, 2017 from 10am to 2pm at the Buffalo and Erie County Public Library, Downtown Central Library located at 1 Lafayette Square, Buffalo, NY 14203.

“As an Erie County Legislator, I believe that government is only effective if constituents and community groups are effective. I believe this workshop will assist these groups to be successful in the much needed work that they provide for Erie County residents” stated Legislator Miller-Williams.

Each year during Erie County annual budget hearings, the Legislature receives funding requests from numerous community based organizations throughout Erie County who are either not aware of the process to apply for funding or are often times unable to access funding due to lack of knowledge about the application requirements that need to be met. To assist Non Profit groups with learning this process, Legislator Miller-Williams has partnered with Erie County Youth Bureau, Erie County Environment and Planning, United Way, and Arts and Services Initiative of Western New York to provide them with knowledge and tools that can be used to access funding through Erie County and other philanthropic lenders.

For more information about funding application deadlines or to RSVP, please contact the 1st Legislative District Office via phone at (716) 842-0490, in person at 427 William Street, Buffalo, NY 14204 or via email at
