Mrs. Eva M. Doyle Presented with Citizen of the Month Award

Buffalo, NY- At the regular session of the Erie County Legislature held in “Old County Hall” on Thursday, January 26, 2017, Erie County Legislator Barbara Miller-Williams (D-Buffalo) presented Mrs. Eva M. Doyle with the Erie County Legislature’s Citizen of the Month Award for January 2017.


The Erie County Legislature’s Citizen of the Month Award recognizes outstanding members of the community. Mrs. Eva M. Doyle has been involved in various aspects of community building across the Western New York region and is the latest recipient of this distinguished award.


“I am honored to recognize the humility, tenacity, and legacy of Mrs. Eva M. Doyle. Through her annual ‘Roses for Outstanding Women Awards’ program, she has made her number one priority the uplifting of individuals not only in District 1 but throughout Erie County. Presenting her with the Citizen of the Month recognition is my way of giving her a well-deserved rose” stated Legislator Miller-Williams.


Mother Doyle, as she is affectionately known, is a community leader, activist, historian, and columnist who is a lifelong resident of the 1st Legislative District. She has evolved her groundbreaking newspaper column “Eye on History” into a bi-weekly radio program and has created a billboard campaign which is seen throughout the community. She is the wife of the late Mr. Romeo Doyle Muhammad and has three children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who are also very active in the community.
