Boston Library fundraiser sets new record, funding to benefit children’s programming

Erie County Legislator John J. Mills announces that the Hot Dog Roast Fundraiser held on June 16, 2016 broke the previous record for money raised for the Boston Free Library. At a presentation held June 29, 2016 at the library, Legislator Mills presented a donation for $1,206, which will be used for children’s programming and materials for the children’s area.  To date, this event has raised $5,088 for the library branch.

“We had a great event once again and I am proud to present this donation for $1,206 to the library. It is great to see the wonderful happenings at the Boston Library and I know this funding will be put to good use. I want to thank everyone who came to the event and encourage you all to support the library year round,” said Legislator Mils.

Legislator Mills presented the donation to Library Director Lydia Herren and Library Board Vice President Robert Klier.

“The Boston Free Library is so grateful to Legislator Mills and his staff for hosting this event. The funds will be used for children's programming, as well as updating the décor and furnishings in the children's room,” said Library Director Herren.

This is the 10th year that Legislator Mills has hosted a fundraiser at each of the libraries in his district. To date, with the Boston Library’s 2016 event, the grand total is $59,000.
