Legislator Mills’ Hot Dog Roasts to feature performers

Erie County Legislator John J. Mills reminds the Eden and Concord communities that his Hot Dog Roast Library Fundraisers are next week. The Eden Library will host its event from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 18 at the library, 2901 E. Church St., Eden, and the Concord Public Library will host its fundraiser from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 19, at the library, 18 Chapel St., Springville. In case of rain, Eden will move the fundraiser to the Methodist Church, 2820 East Church St.

This is the first year that Legislator Mills is hosting a fundraiser at Eden Library following the redistricting process that moved Eden into the new 11th District. This is the sixth annual event for Concord.

“I am looking forward to the first hot dog roast in Eden and bringing this fun event to the community. I hope everyone will come out and support the library,” said Legislator Mills.

Eden’s fundraiser will also include the great entertainment duo, Charlie & Checkers, and their Magic Variety Show from 5 to 6 p.m. Prizes will be handed out throughout the evening.

At Concord’s fundraiser, from 2 to 7 p.m., the library will feature a bake sale, as well as a book sale with 4,000 volumes and “Fill a Bag with Books - $2.” Then, from 4 to 8 p.m. tickets for the 50/50 raffle will be sold, along with Town of Concord Bicentennial Committee Memorabilia. To close out the fun summer event, Paul Zittel and Pure Country Band will perform from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

In total, these popular events have raised more than $20,000 to support ongoing efforts to provide quality programming and materials at each of the branches in Legislator Mills’ District.

Hot dogs will be sold for $1 and Italian sausage is $2, both meals include a bottle of water. All proceeds support the host library.
