Legislator Mills announces Aug. 4 Concord Library Hot Dog Roast Fundraiser

Erie County Legislator John J. Mills, R-District 13, announces that his next Library Hot Dog Roast Fundraiser will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4 at the Hulbert Library of the Town of Concord, 18 Chapel St., Springville.

This is the fifth year that Legislator Mills is holding his Hot Dog Roast Fundraisers at the five public and community libraries in his district; all proceeds benefit the libraries. To date, Legislator Mills, with the support of the community, has raised more than $17,000.

“The Concord Library Hot Dog Roast is one of the largest of the group and is always a great community event,” Legislator Mills said. “It will be a wonderful evening, stop by and support the library.”

Legislator Mills will again be selling hot dogs for $1, and Italian sausage with peppers and onions for $2; both meals include a bottle of ice cold Mayer Brothers Spring Water. The Hot Dog Roast will be held rain or shine.

Library Director Annette Gernatt said the library is also hosting several events and invites residents to stop by. A Theme Basket Auction will begin at 10 a.m. and the drawing is at 7 p.m. Tickets are $2 for 10 or $5 for 25. A 50/50 drawing will also be held during the event.

A bake sale will be held inside the library from 4 to 8 p.m. At 6:30 p.m. Paul Zittel and Pure Country will perform at Fiddler’s Green Park, located across from the library.

The final two fundraisers of the year will be held on the following days:

  • 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19 at the Orchard Park Public Library, 4570 S. Buffalo St., Orchard Park.
  • 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20 at the West Falls-Colden Community Library, 1966 Davis Road, West Falls.
