Legislator Mills announces Collins Library surpasses $10,000 mark with record event

Erie County Legislator John J. Mills is pleased to announce that the Town of Collins Library has surpassed the $10,000 mark with the money raised during the June 18 Hot Dog Roast Fundraiser. The 2016 event brought in $1,410, which was a new record for the branch, taking the grand total to $10,345.

Legislator Mills presented the $1,410 donation on July 15, 2016 to Library Director Abigail Barten-McGowan.

“In just 10 years these events have raised more than $10,000 for this small-town library. That is amazing. I can’t thank the community enough for their support over the years and for helping to improve the library through their generosity,” said Legislator Mills.

“We are extremely grateful for the donation, the funds really have helped us to host quality programs and bring patrons into the library throughout the year. This year we plan to use the funds for additional children's programming,” said Abigail Barten-McGowan, Town of Collins Library Director.
