Legislature supports RecruitNY, recognizes importance of volunteer firefighters

Erie County Legislator John Mills announces that the Legislature has approved a proclamation in support of the 6th annual RecruitNY, encouraging residents to consider joining their local fire company, which are in critical need of new members.

“RecruitNY is a great effort and I applaud all of our local fire companies whose members are actively working to ensure they have the manpower to keep our communities safe. Just a couple of years ago, Orchard Park reported 18 volunteer applications were handed in as a result to this event and I hope all the departments have great success this year. For anyone who has ever considered joining, now is the time to learn more,” said Legislator Mills.
