Erie County Legislator John Mills has teamed up with area elementary schools for his annual Valentines for Veterans program. Legislator Mills collected handmade cards from students for men and women serving at the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station and several VFW posts throughout his legislative district.

Legislator Mills said, “It is critically important to teach young kids just how important our military and service to our country is. Whether they know it or not, their simple gesture of making thank you cards for our veterans goes a long way and can turn even the hardest days around. I want to take a moment to say ‘thank you’ to those who dedicate their lives to keeping us safe from harm’s way. I’d also like to thank the students for putting so much time and thought into these special cards.”

Participating elementary schools in District 11 include:

  • Eden Elementary School

  • Eggert Elementary School

  • Ellicott Elementary School

  • Grover L. Priess Primary School

  • Nativity of our Lord School

  • North Collins Elementary

  • South Davis Elementary

  • St. John Vianney School

  • Windom Elementary School
