Legislator Mills congratulates retiring Town of Eden Police Officers

Erie County Legislator John Mills attended a recent town board meeting to congratulate Police Lieutenant John McCarthy and Police Chief Michael Felschow on retiring after their years of dedicated service to the Town of Eden Police Department.

Lieutenant John McCarthy began his careeras a first responder at the age of 18 and eventually became a full-time officer for the Town of Eden Police Department in 1989. He rose to the position of Lieutenant in 2006, a role he faithfully served in before announcing his retirement this year.  Chief Michael Felschow joined the police department in 1974, served as Lieutenant for ten years, and became police chief in 2009 serving until announcing his retirement in 2020. Both Lieutenant McCarthy and Chief Felschow have received numerous honors for their outstanding work throughout the community, and went above and beyond to make improvements at the police department during their time there.

Legislator Mills said, “It was an honor to present proclamations to Lieutenant McCarthy and Chief Felschow recognizing them for their service to our community. Both of them have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to the residents of the Town of Eden. I thank them for everything they have done throughout their careers, and wish them all the best in retirement.”
