Erie County Legislator John Mills presented former Town of Collins Library Director Karen McClure with a plaque thanking her for her service to the library.

Karen, a native of Ellicottville, NY, began her career with the Buffalo and Erie County Library in 1991. She began working at the Town of Collins Library eight years prior to her retirement and was instrumental in making the library a community center and advocating for early literacy.

Legislator Mills said, “Our local libraries are a great asset to the communities they serve due to the dedication and service of the many hardworking staff members and volunteers who keep them up and running. Karen has gone above and beyond to help people succeed through library programs and instilling a love of reading. It was my pleasure to honor her for her outstanding work, and I hope she is enjoying retirement!”
