The Erie County Legislature unanimously approved a contract that will allow the Springville-Griffith Institute school district to employ a full-time school resource officer (SRO) to promote a safe environment within the school.

The district reached an agreement with the Erie County Sheriff’s officer and the contract will run through June 2021.

Legislator Mills said, “A school resource officer will be a great asset to the Springville School District. These officers contribute to a positive environment in local schools and help promote safety through education efforts and by deterring crime. I look forward to the success of this program throughout the district.”
