County/Town Taxes:
The Town of Newstead collects property taxes annually in the month of February through March. Tax bills are mailed on or before February 14th and due without penalties on March 15th. The town continues to collect through the penalty periods until June 30th when the final unpaid parcels are then sent to Erie County Department of Real Property Services for back tax. After June 30th payments can not be accepted locally. You can contact the County at (716) 858-8333 for payment options and payoff amounts at that point. Payments to the County can be mailed to: Erie County Dept. of R.P.T.S., 95 Franklin St- Room 100, Buffalo, NY 14202
School Taxes:
The town also offers their collection services to the Akron Central School District and to Clarence Central School for their Town of Newstead parcels only. School tax bills are mailed annually on September 14th and due without penalties on October 15th. The town continues to collect on behalf of the schools until November 15th for Niagara & Genesee County parcels and November 30th for Erie County parcels, at which time the unpaid parcels are then sent to the respective County tax departments for relevy onto the County/Town tax bill.
