Legislator Rath announces free, guided walk at Akron Falls Park

In the Town of Newstead, Burdick Road will be closed from Tonawanda Creek Road (Erie County) to Tonawanda Creek Road (Niagara County) to allow for bridge repairs. The closure will begin Monday, Aug. 21 and is expected to last until Sept. 30.

Erie County Legislator Edward Rath announces that a free guided walk at Akron Falls Park will be held on Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013. The walk is part of the “Be Active Erie County!” series to promote an active and healthy lifestyle. 

 

Registration begins at 9 a.m. at Cummings Lodge, 44 Parkview Drive Akron.

 

At these walks attendees will be able to learn more about how to get healthy and stay healthy, and receive health screenings targeting blood pressure and body mass index (BMI). Assorted health education materials, and smoking cessation services and products will also be available at each walk.
