During last week’s session, the Erie County Legislature approved authorizing the Town of Amherst to design and construct pedestrian and bicycle safety improvements on Casey Road.

The project is expected to begin in 2019 and be completed in 2020. Funding was secured through a $1.2 million federal grant.

“I look forward to the completion of these important public safety improvements,” said Legislator Ed Rath. “This project will expand walking space and install new sidewalks to create a safer, more walkable road for the community.”
