On Wednesday, September 11th, The Western New York Regional Volunteer Center at The Service Collaborative of WNY, Erie County RSVP, The Amanda Hansen Foundation, Peter Young Housing Altamont Program, Little Portion Friary, and Buffalo Olmsted Conservancy came together for the annual nationwide 9/11 National Day of Service. Over 250 Volunteers worked to improve the physical conditions and aesthetics of two emergency shelters and beautify the landscaping conditions at Delaware Park. It was a very hot day but that didn’t prevent the volunteers from giving their all! Thank you to everyone you participated.
Pictured below are some of the activities, including Commissioner of Veterans Services painting a guest's room at Altamont and Little Portion Friary Volunteers preparing dinner.
