    There are new sessions of both Diabetes Self-Management classes and Chronic Disease Self-Management classes. 

    *New for 2018! The Diabetes Program includes a FREE Consultation with a Registered Dietitian prior to the 1st workshop for eligible Medicare Recipients.

  • Classes for People Helping Older Relatives or Friends 

    A six-week educational program designed to provide caregivers the tools needed for taking care of themselves is now being offered. Through six 2 1/2 hour sessions held on a weekly basis caregivers learn to reduce stress, improve self-confidence, better communicate feelings, and locate helpful resources. Attendees also learn how to increase their ability to make tough decisions and balance their lives.

Join Erie County Department of Senior Services and Center for Elder Law & Justice for our 2017 Elder Law Day at the Adams Mark Hotel in Downtown Buffalo! This FREE event provides you with the opportunity to attend presentations on a variety of topics, as well as get important information from a variety of elder support services who will be tabling the event! We also offer free parking at the Adams Mark Parking Ramp. 

Once again, we will be offering FREE 15 minute consultations with an attorney if you have a legal issue or questions that you’d like to discuss one-on one. Topics can include Medicaid planning, estates, trusts, wills, housing, consumer, health insurance and more!

You can also add on a free appointment with a HIICAP Insurance Resource Counselor to get up-to-date information on Medicare, Medicare Supplemental and Managed Care plans, HMO’s, PPO’s, Part D coverage and long term care insurance to help you make informed choices about your health care needs.

Additionally, you can add on a free appointment with a NY Connects Case Manager for Options Counseling to discuss programs and care options to help you make informed choices about living independently in the community.
