  • It is difficult and often impossible to surf the internet, read a newspaper or magazine, watch TV or listen to the radio, without hearing about the great benefits of some new supplement or exercise routine that promises to relieve illnesses that have plagued mankind since the beginning of recorded history. All this information can be overwhelming.  What we really need is simple, straight-forward advice from people like us who we can trust.

  • Join Erie County Department of Senior Services and Center for Elder Law & Justice for our 2017 Elder Law Day at the Adams Mark Hotel in Downtown Buffalo! This FREE event provides you with the opportunity to attend presentations on a variety of topics, as well as get important information from a variety of elder support services who will be tabling the event! We also offer free parking at the Adams Mark Parking Ramp.

Many older adults experience concerns about falling and restrict their activities.  A MATTER OF BALANCE is an award-winning program designed to manage falls and increase activity levels.

This program emphasizes practical strategies to manage falls.

YOU WILL LEARN TO:                                                                

  • view falls as controllable
  • set goals for increasing activity
  • make changes to reduce falls risks at home
  • exercise to increase strength and balance

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

  • anyone concerned about falls
  • anyone interested in improving balance, flexibility and strength
  • anyone who has fallen in the past
  • anyone who has restricted activities because of falling concerns
