  • Classes for People Helping Older Relatives or Friends 

    A six-week educational program designed to provide caregivers the tools needed for taking care of themselves is now being offered. Through six 2 1/2 hour sessions held on a weekly basis caregivers learn to reduce stress, improve self-confidence, better communicate feelings, and locate helpful resources. Attendees also learn how to increase their ability to make tough decisions and balance their lives.

  • Choose Healthy Fall 2019

    Choose Healthy workshops are FREE and participants receive a copy of the companion book, “Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Conditions”. The workshop series consists of six, 2½ hour classes, held weekly which are facilitated by two trained Peer Leaders, one or both of whom are living with a chronic disease. Participants must pre-register.

Classes for People Helping Older Relatives or Friends 

We offer a six-week educational program designed to provide caregivers with the tools they need to take care of themselves while caring for their loved one. Classes are offered once a week for six weeks, with each session lasting either 2 ½ hours or 1 ½ hours.

Caregivers will learn to reduce stress, improve self-confidence, better communicate feelings, and locate helpful resources. Caregivers will also learn how to increase their ability to make tough decisions and balance their lives.

There is a suggested contribution of $25 for the course, which includes a copy of the Caregiver Helpbook.

Course is covered for all Blue Cross/Blue Shield of WNY and Independent Health members.

Course is covered in full by Health Foundation of Western & Central NY Cultural Diversity Grant funding for those that are uninsured.
