Older adults face physical, financial, and environmental challenges that can hinder their ability to access healthy foods. The Department of Senior Services has programs and services created to ensure that older adults have food on the table and are educated on the importance of proper nutrition and how it affects their health and well-being.

  • The Stay Fit Dining program serves hot, nutritious noonday meals at various locations around Erie County, Monday-Friday and is available to individuals 60 years old or older. Participants must be 60 years of age or older and the suggested confidential contribution is $3.00. Download the dining site list here.
  • Farmers Market Coupons- Distribution officially ended for 2022 and the next distribution will be July of 2023.  Coupons will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis at selected sites in Erie County. One $25.00 booklet is issued per person, per year. The person must be present to sign for coupons, or power of attorney with proper documentation. Farmer's Market Coupons will be dispensed to Erie County residents 60 years of age or older according to the eligibility requirements as established by New York State. The eligibility requirements can be viewed by clicking on the following link
  • Go & Dine - The Go & Dine Program is an extension of the Stay Fit Dining Program for Erie County residents 60 years and older. Participants receive vouchers monthly to use at these restaurants and to order from their special Go & Dine menu.
  • Home Delivered Meals - People 60 and over who cannot shop or prepare their own meals, often count on nutritious meals delivered to their homes five days a week. If you or someone you know, is unable to take care of meal preparation, a call to (716) 858-8526 can initiate an in-home evaluation for home-delivered meals as well as any other benefits or services for which the older person may be eligible.
