3 DWI ARRESTS IN SARDINIA, CLARENCE, ELMA


 

              

October 20- 21, 2012-  Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of three subjects for alcohol related offenses by Sheriff’s Road Patrols on Saturday night and early Sunday morning. 

     While on patrol in Sardinia, Deputy Robert Kolmetz responded to a citizen complaint of an erratic driver on Rt. 16 at approximately 5:00PM.  Deputy Kolmetz located the vehicle operated by Paul R. Mitrowski (46) of Sardinia and arrested him for Felony Driving While Intoxicated and other charges.  Mitrowski was charged with “D” Felony DWI due to having prior convictions for DWI from 2005 and 2008.  He refused to submit to a breath test to determine his blood alcohol content.  He was processed at the Colden Station and transported to the Holding Center to await arraignment.  Deputy Kolmetz was assisted on the arrest by Deputy Don Hoelscher. 

     While on patrol in Clarence, Deputy Lee Richard stopped a car operated by Jonathan G. Goulding  (21) of Depew on Transit Road for erratic operation at approximately 3:00AM.  Deputy Richard subsequently arrested Goulding and charged him with DWI and traffic infractions.  A breath test revealed his blood alcohol content to be .13%.  He was processed at the Clarence Station and released on appearance tickets.  Deputy Richard was assisted with the arrest by Deputy Brandon Stott. 

     While on patrol in Elma, Deputy Simon Biegasiewicz responded to the complaint of a vehicle driving the wrong way down the Rt. 400 Expressway from Union Road at approximately 4:50AM.  The Deputy was able to get the vehicle stopped on Rt. 400 near Transit Road and determined that the driver:  Jack F. Wood (62) of Sardinia was drunk.  Wood almost collided with several oncoming vehicles and did strike a guide rail and a mile marker while driving in the wrong lanes.  Deputy Biegasiewicz subsequently arrested the driver and charged him with DWI, Reckless Driving, Reckless Endangerment and multiple traffic infractions including Speeding.  A breath test revealed his blood alcohol content to be .11%.  He was processed at the Elma Station and released on appearance tickets.  Deputy Biegasiewicz was assisted with the arrest by Deputy John Szczepanski.
