3 DWI ARRESTS ON SUNDAY IN GRAND ISLAND; SPRINGVILLE; ELMA


 

     Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of three local residents for Driving While Intoxicated by Sheriff’s Road Patrols in separate incidents on Sunday night. 

 

     While on patrol on Grand Island at approximately 8:05PM, Deputy Gene Nati arrested Kenneth J. Martina (20) of Amherst and charged him with DWI and traffic infractions after stopping his vehicle for erratic operation on Love Road near the Beaver Island Parkway.  A breath test revealed his blood alcohol content to be .14%.  He was processed at the Grand Island Station and released on appearance tickets. 

 

     While on patrol in Springville at approximately 8:39PM, Deputy Jason Bouton arrested William H. Max (46) of Blasdell and charged him with Felony DWI, Aggravated DWI, and traffic infractions after stopping his vehicle for Speeding on Rt. 39 near Rt. 219.  A breath test revealed his blood alcohol content to be .19%, over twice the legal limit.  The Felony charge was filed due to a previous DWI conviction from 2004.  Max was processed at the Springville Station and released on appearance tickets. 

 

     While on patrol in Elma at approximately 9:47PM, Deputy John Szczepanski arrested James P. Schraufstetter (19) of Lancaster and charged him with Aggravated DWI, Marihuana Possession, and traffic infractions after stopping his vehicle for erratic operation on Jerge Drive in Elma.  A breath test revealed his blood alcohol content to be .20%, over twice the legal limit.  He was processed at the Elma Station and released on appearance tickets.
