THREE GRAND ISLAND RESIDENTS ARRSTED ON VARIOUS DRUG CHARGES
April 29, 2013- Erie County Sheriff Tim Howard is announcing the arrest of three Grand Island residents on various drug charges after a traffic stop on Bedell Road, Grand Island by Deputies Michael Okal and Angela Kopacz on April 27, 2013 @ about 10:30 A.M.
A quantity of unknown white powder; pills; a scale; and marijuana were found in their car.
21 year old Korey Dimatteo , of Continental Lane, was charged with two counts of criminal use of drug paraphernalia- misdemeanors); one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance- misdemeanor); and two violations including unlawful possession of marijuana; and having a controlled substance not in its original container.
22 year old Edward A Bolton of Bedell Road was charged with a violation for unlawful possession of marijuana.
Within hours of the above mentioned arrests, Sr. Detective Alan Rozansky and Detective Tim Carney developed information and were able to track down and ultimately witness 22 year old Justin M. Kopenski of Colonial Drive, try to hide two garbage bags full of marijuana plants in a dumpster in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Grand Island Boulevard.
Kopenski was charged with a felony for trying to conceal/destroy physical evidence; and two misdemeanors including unlawfully growing cannabis and criminal possession of marijuana.
