February 2, 2013- Sheriff Tim Howard reports the arrest of an Amherst woman for aggravated DWI. This is the 36th DWI arrest made by the Erie County Sheriff's Office this year.
Deputy Mathew Fuqua assisted by Deputy Jonathan Hanna responded to a reprot fo a vehicle tha slid into a tree on Stahley Road inthe Town of Clarence. The 22 year old driver of the vehicle, Heather Lewandowski, was found to be intoxicated and was taken into custofy. Ms. Lewandowski was taken to the Erie County Sheriff's Elma substation where a chemical breath test was administered. This test revealed that Ms. Lewandowski's blood alcohol content was.19%- more than twice the legal limit. Ms. Lewandowski was released to a third party on uniform traffic tickets returnable to the Town of Clarence Court at a later date.
