July 18, 2013- Sheriff Tim Howard reports the arrest of a Grand Island woman for aggravated DWI.
Sheriff's deputies on Grand Island responded to a citizen's complaint that his car, which was parked on the street, had been struck by a vehicle that had fled the scene. As deputies approached the location they observed a vehicle strike a bunch of garbage cans and then proceed onto South State Parkway. Deputy Jason Clark stopped the vehicle which showed damage from an accident. Further investigation found that the driver, 25 year old Jordan Bahleda was intoxicated. She was arrested for DWI.
Bahleda submitted to a breath test which showed her BAC to be .20%- over twice the legal limit.
Bahleda's DWI charge was upgraded to aggravated DWI due to her BAC being over.18%. She was released on appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Grand Island Court at a future date.
