AGGRAVATED DWI ARREST IN TOWN OF CLARENCE

OCTOBER 8, 2013-  Sheriff Tim Howard reports the arrest of a Town of West Seneca man for Aggravated DWI.  This is the 245th DWI arrest by Erie County Sheriff's Office this year.

Deputy Anthony Fuqu conducted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle, operated by 34 year old Dennis Mazur, fail to stop at a red light on Main Street in the Town of Clarence. Upon further investigation, Deputy Fuqua determined that Mr. Mazur was intoxicated and took him into custody.

Mr. Mazur was transported to the Clarence substation and a chemical breath test was administered.  Mr. Mazur's BAC registered a .19% over twice the legal limit.  Due to the high blood alcohol content, Mr. Mazur was charged with Aggravated DWI and other vehicle and traffic charges.  He was released to a third party on uniform traffic tickets returnable to the Town of Clarence Court at a later date.
