AGGRAVATED DWI ARRESTS IN ALDEN AND ELMA


 

 

 May 10, 2012- Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of two local men for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated Thursday night and early Friday Morning. 

      Deputy Rich O’Neil arrested Michael L. Fassel, 29, for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated and multiple traffic infractions following a 911 call of a truck that had left the roadway and rolled over onto the front yard of an Alden home.  After being evaluated by first aid Mr. Fassel failed several field sobriety tests and was taken into custody.  He was processed at the Sheriff’s Town of Elma substation, where a chemical breath test was administered.  The test revealed a BAC of .18%.  Mr. Fassel was released to a third party on traffic tickets returnable to the Town of Alden Justice Court at a future date.

      Deputy John Szczepanski arrested Grant A. Fiegl, 22, of Hamburg, for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated after a traffic stop on Route 400 in the Town of Elma.  He was processed at the Sheriff’s Elma substation, where a chemical breath test was administered.  The test revealed a BAC of .18%.  Mr. Fiegl was released to a third party on tickets returnable to Town of Elma Justice Court.

 As per New York’s DWI Laws, BAC results of .18% and higher result in a charge of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated.
