Erie County Sheriff Timothy B Howard reports the arrest of a Town of Alden woman for Driving While Intoxicated.
Deputy Gregory Kent received a complaint of a vehicle being operated recklessly on Genesee Rd., Town of Alden. Deputy Kent located the vehicle after it struck a parked vehicle on Walden Ave. in the Town of Alden. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 31 yr. old Joanne Koleff. It was determined that she was intoxicated after she failed standardized field sobriety tests. Ms. Koleff was taken into custody and agreed to submit to a blood draw. Ms. Koleff was also evaluated by the Erie Co. Sheriff's Drug Recognition Expert Deputy Simon Biegasiewicz.
Ms. Koleff will be charged with Commonlaw Driving While Intoxicated, Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs and various vehicle & traffic charges. Ms. Koleff was released on uniform traffic tickets returnable to the Town of Alden Court at a later date.
This is the 135th DWI arrest by Erie Co. Sheriff's Office in 2014.
