Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports that an Arcade woman was arrested early this morning after being involved in a single vehicle property damage accident. Jennifer A. Geiser, age 42, of Northwood Rd. , was eastbound on Clinton St. when for unexplained reasons, her vehicle left the roadway and entered a ditch. Deputy George Avery, of the Erie County Sheriff's Elma Sub-Station, responded to the scene to investigate. The driver exhibited signs of intoxication, and was placed under arrest after failing sobriety tests. She was taken to the Elma Station for processing, where she refused to submit to a breath test. Geiser was then transported to E.C.M.C. on section 22.09 of the Mental Health Law for evaluation due to her apparent level of intoxication. She will answer to the charges on a future date in the Town of Elma Court.
Her vehicle was towed and a 12 hour hold was placed on it.
This is the 105th arrest for Driving While Intoxicated made by the Erie County Sheriff's Office in 2014.
