BUFFALO MAN ARRESTED IN CLARENCE FOR POSSESSING MORE THAN 7 THOUSAND DOLLARS OF COCAINE


March 7, 2013- Town of Clarence-  Erie County Sheriff Tim Howard is announcing that the Narcotics Unit along with the Amherst Police Narcotics Unit arrested a Joseph Sciortino, 31 years of age, of Rhode Island Street, Buffalo, New York following an investigation into narcotics sales in the Clarence and Amherst, NY area.   A search warrant signed by Clarence Town Justice Robert Sillers  was executed  and Sciortino was found to possess approximately 1.5 ounces of cocaine packaged for street sale and in excess of $7000.00 in drug proceeds.

 Sciortino was charged with  criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell and criminal possession of more than one ounce of cocaine, both B felonies.  Sciortino was taken to the Erie County Holding Center to await arraignment in the Town of Clarence court.
