May 10, 2012- Town of Grand Island- Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the early afternoon arrest of a Buffalo man for DWI following a traffic stop on the I-190 in Grand Island.
Erie County Sheriff’s Deputy Matt Cipollitti stopped a vehicle on the I-190 in Grand Island for traffic violations at about 12:16pm. Upon further investigation and field sobriety tests, it was determined that the driver, 54 y/o Stephen Szabo of Buffalo, was intoxicated.
Szabo was subsequently arrested and charged with DWI and various other traffic infractions. Szabo consented to a chemical breath test which showed a reading of .12% BAC.
Szabo was later released to a third party on traffic tickets, returnable to the Town of Grand Island at a later date.
