December 22, 2011- Town of Clarence- Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of a Buffalo resident for Felony Driving While Intoxicated by Sheriff’s Road Patrols on Tuesday night.
While patrolling in the Town of Clarence, Deputy Simon Biegasiewicz arrested Matthew Klopfer (26) and charged him with Felony DWI and traffic infractions after stopping his vehicle for failing to signal a lane change on Transit Rd. Mr. Klopfer refused a breath test. As a result of the refusal Deputy Biegasiewicz completed the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles form to initiate immediate revocation of his license. The charge is a felony due to Mr. Klopfer having a 2004 conviction for DWI in the Town of Cheektowaga. He was processed at the Goodrich Road Substation and released on appearance tickets for Clarence Town Court.
