December 16, 2011 - Town of Alden - Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports the arrest of a Town of Alden man for multiple charges after he stormed into a business looking to attack a worker there.
Erie County Sheriff’s Deputies Dave Barbaritz and Chris Ginnane responded to a business on Broadway in the Town of Alden for a report that 34 y/o Andrew Brenton of Broadway in Alden arrived at the business and rushed inside with an aluminum baseball bat with the intent of attacking a worker there. Brenton was subdued by the workers in the business and the bat was taken away. The motive for the attempted attack was personal in nature.
Brenton was arrested and charged with Burglary 2nd degree (class C felony), Menacing 2nd degree (class A misdemeanor) and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree (class A misdemeanor).
Brenton was arraigned in the Town of Alden Court and remanded to the Erie County Holding Center on $5000 cash bail.
