CAR/PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT IN TOWN OF HOLLAND


March 7, 2013- Town of Holland- Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports that a car/pedestrian accident which occurred this morning in the Town of Holland has claimed the life of a Holland man.

 Max Barron, age 89, was struck by a northbound car in front of his South Protection Road residence at about 10:14 this morning.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

 The driver of the car, Harley Teluk, age 19, of Holland, was treated at the scene and transported to South Buffalo Mercy Hospital by the Holland Fire Department.  Her injuries are not believed to be serious.

 In addition to the members of the Holland Fire Department, the Sheriff’s Accident Investigation Unit was assisted at the scene by the New York State Police.

 The investigation is continuing. 

 Mr. Barron was a well-respected, long-time member and past Fire Chief of the Holland Volunteer Fire Department.
